About Saturnalia

A third-person roguelite horror adventure where you play as four characters, experiencing an intergenerational storyline tied to the haunting traditions of an ancient village in Sardinia, Italy, a region rich with unique folkloreโ€ฆ The village itself is an elaborate maze with no two iterations being precisely the sameโ€”you will have to explore and solve the mysteries of the game largely unguided. Die, and watch the village reconfigure itself into a new form. Solve puzzles and open shortcuts to new areas with tools and items you find along the way, unlocking every piece of the story with different characters, each with its own power and suited for another aspect of exploration and investigation. Game Features: โ— The village structure changes each time all your characters die โ— Discover characters' special abilities, use tools and consumables to open shortcuts โ— Keep narrative and puzzle progress across game-overs (roguelite) โ— Manage your supply of matches to help your sight and solve puzzles โ— Non-linear progression, dynamic and adaptive narrative โ— Investigate the ritual at the heart of the game and use what you find to stop it โ— Puzzles deeply integrated with the game world and narrative (not abstract) โ— Artwork and animations inspired by stop-motion and rotoscoping film techniques

Saturnalia: Switch vs Steam prices

Saturnalia is currently cheaper on the Nintendo Switch eShop than on Steam in 14 of the 41 countries where we can compare both stores โ€” the biggest gap is Canada, where the Switch version costs about $4.31 against $28.77 on Steam, a saving of roughly $24.46.

Why the gap? Nintendo and Steam price the same game independently. Each eShop sets its own price in local currency for its country, while Steam sells through regional currency zones with their own price points. Exchange rates move daily, so two sticker prices that match on paper can differ in real terms. Both stores are also region-locked: you generally buy from the store your account belongs to, which is why a cheaper region usually needs that region's gift card or wallet top-up.
