View the cherry blossoms in the spring; attend the festival in the summer; eat roasted sweet potatoes in the fall; hear the temple bell ring in winter, and then it's time for the first shrine visit of the New Year. ◆Self-Sufficiency: Hard Work, Deep Flavor Rice --- the essential source of energy for the people in Japan. Salt, soy sauce, miso ---- seasonings no Japanese kitchen can do without. In this countryside, many things city dwellers take for granted must be made by hand. By standing in the kitchen or cooking around the traditional irori hearth of your heritage home, you can simulate preparing a wide variety of dishes and seasonings. Food made through your own effort tastes extra special. Don't be surprised if the game makes you hungry! ◆Bring back life to the village through various events Many events unfold depending on the season, location, and time of day. A villager might ask you to repair an old waterwheel, or to help reopen a shuttered candy shop. Strengthen your relationships with the locals and restore the liveliness the village once had. Each morning, an elderly woman visits to sell daily necessities, and each afternoon, a man arrives to buy items you no longer need.
